Support & Getting Started

This page walks you through system requirements, installation, activation, and first-time setup so you can start pricing your products quickly and correctly.

Step 0

System Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • Modern CPU (Intel i5 / Ryzen 5 or better recommended)
  • 8 GB RAM minimum (16 GB recommended)
  • 500 MB free disk space for app & data
  • Internet connection required only for initial download, activation email, and optional update checks
Step 1

Download & Install

  1. After purchase, check the email address you used at checkout.
  2. Download the ZIP file containing:
    • BuildItTV_Product_Pricing_Studio_Setup_vX.X.X.exe
    • Quick Start Guide (PDF)
    • User Manual (PDF)
    • System Requirements info
  3. Unzip the file to a folder on your computer.
  4. Double‑click the setup EXE to begin installation.
  5. Follow the prompts to install to the default location:
    C:\Program Files\BuildItTV\ProductPricingStudio\
  6. If Windows SmartScreen warns about an unknown publisher, click More info → Run anyway if you trust BuildItTV and recognize the installer.
Step 2

Activating Your License

Activation is a one‑time step that ties your license to your shop computer. Once activated, PPS runs offline.

  1. Launch BuildItTV Product Pricing Studio.
  2. On first run, you’ll see an Activation Code on screen.
  3. Find your Computer Name (Device Name):
    • Open Settings → System → About.
    • Locate the device name field.
  4. Email the following to support@buildittv.com:
    • Subject: License Key Request – BuildItTV Product Pricing Studio
    • Device Name: [your device name]
    • Activation Code: [code shown in the app]
    • Purchase Email: [email used at checkout]
  5. You’ll receive a License Key by email.
  6. Enter the License Key into the activation window and click Activate.
  7. Once activated, the license is bound to that device. If you replace your computer later, you can contact support to request a transfer.
Step 3

First-Time Setup Checklist

These steps will get you from a blank install to your first accurate product price.

  • Open Company Profile and update with your shop info (name, contact details, and any footer notes).
  • Go to Fixed Costs and enter your real monthly expenses (rent, utilities, insurance, software, etc.).
  • Define at least one machine in Machine Costs (for example your main CNC or table saw).
  • Add your most common sheet goods and hardwoods in Raw Materials.
  • Create your first product in Products (for example your primary cutting board or sign).
  • Open Product Pricing, reload that product, and review the cost breakdown and suggested selling price.
